Twinmotion 2025.1: What's New?
Some users may have already previewed these features in the Epic Games launcher. Now, they are fully ready for development.

Mastering the Redesigned Environment Tab
The user interface (UI) in Twinmotion has been updated. It's becoming more like Unreal Engine's UI. The focus is on keeping things simple while adding new features. The environment tab has been redesigned to give you more control over your scenes.
HDRI (High Dynamic Range Image)
HDRI skies can add a lot to your scenes. You can access them in the environment tab. Adjusting the rotation of the sky changes the shadows in your scene. For creative lighting, you can even break the link between the sun and the HDRI. There are also options for seasons and weather effects within the HDRI settings.
The Horizon setting lets you add cityscapes or backgrounds.
Dynamic Sky
The dynamic sky allows you to quickly move the sun and change the north offset. Appearance settings include temperature controls for color tone.
You can also adjust the sun's size and reflection for architectural visualization. Turbidity and atmosphere density settings create a hazy effect. Plus, there are moon and star intensity settings for nighttime scenes.

Twinmotion offers both 2D and volumetric clouds.
2D vs. Volumetric Clouds
2D clouds are great for large projects because they use fewer resources. You can control them separately from the season.
Volumetric Cloud Settings
Volumetric clouds offer more realism. You can adjust the amount of clouds and the resulting shadows. The randomization seed changes the cloud formations. You can adjust cloud height, vertical extent, flatness, puffiness, and density.
It's also possible to add color to the clouds. The surface clouds setting adds wispy clouds. Radial and directional dissipation settings control cloud distribution. The wind effect adds interactivity.
