Architecture and Design: Reasons to Attend AIA National Convention 2012

ArchVision attends and participates in a series of conferences and events each year. These events allows us to showcase the ease of use of RPC Content and more important, meet with customers and partners to discuss upcoming ArchVision technology and features. Events and expos such as these allow you to see, touch, and feel new product and demo new technologies. Invaluable is the face time you have with colleagues, customers and partners. And for many, the continuing education credit hours are of key importance.

This year’s convention will be held in Washington, DC. (Exploring the city at night to photograph the monuments and buildings lit at night is a treat for anyone who appreciates design).

Update Released: New Download Available for ArchVision Dashboard

ArchVision Dashboard version 1.0.2.4 is now available. The latest version is delivered via an automatic update that will prompt existing users to upgrade older versions. The latest installer can also be downloaded here:

The ArchVision Dashboard is the latest member of the ArchVision Content tools. Installed accompanying the ArchVision Content Manager, this tool is the new platform for delivering quick access to content and plug-ins. The ArchVision Development Team continues to work on improving the user experience for this tool. In the coming year, you will see an improvement to our user licensing process, user content creation and drag and drop support in more applications.

Autodesk University Classes Online Through 12/19!

Autodesk University (AU) opening session is always exciting. You learn about upcoming innovations related to design, software and the industry and hear from industry movers and shakers. It kicks off a multi-day conference filled with labs, instruction classes, TED-like presentations and more for users of AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, Inventor, Navisworks and other Autodesk products. Chaos Group Phoenix (FD): Amazingly Realistic Simulation

Chaos Group just announced the release of their follow up product to Phoenix Fluid Dynamics, Phoenix (FD) 2. Best known for V-Ray, Chaos Group’s products have pushed rendering realism to the extreme, and this product is by no means an exception.

Phoenix FD simulates realistic smoke, fire, liquid, explosions and more. Unlike many other 3ds Max plug-ins, this product is very intuitive. Simply add the PHXSimluator box around the object you want to set ablaze and let Phoenix FD work it’s magic. The simulation calculations can even be viewed directly in the viewport prior to rendering. Control the intensity of the explosion, the density of the smoke or the viscosity of the fluid. This simulator is amazing.
